【2026 NYCU Arts Center】Performing Arts

As the new semester begins, the Spring and Summer arts programs have quietly made their debut. We warmly invite you to join us in the performing arts program.

# “Encounters in 1930”  for Oboe and String Quartet
The program includes Crusell’s Divertimento and Britten’s Phantasy Quartet, Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 1, and Poulenc’s Les Chemins de l’Amour, showcasing a spectrum of colors—from English pastoral charm to French romanticism—inviting audiences to explore the beauty of chamber music.

#《Latin Heart・Worldwide Love》Global Sounds of the Grammy and Golden Melody Awards
Clarinetist Chang Chang-Chieh teams up with Grammy-winning bassist Bam Rodriguez, Golden Melody Award–winning pianist Martin Musaubach (MUSA), and percussionist Alex Wu to form the Chang Chang-Chieh World & Latin Ensemble.

# Heard Through Harmonica: Musical Tales
Sirius Harmonica Ensemble was the recipient of the Harmonica Group World Championship at the 2017 World Harmonica Festival (WHF). In both 2022 and 2023, the ensemble was selected as a Taiwan Top Performing Arts Group by the National Culture and Arts Foundation.

# 3PEOPLEMUSIC The Fusion of Sound
In 2025, 3PEOPLEMUSIC proudly represented Taiwan as the officially selected showcase artist at the World Music Expo (WOMEX)—a first for a Taiwanese ensemble. This performance draws on Taiwanese culture as its foundation, weaving reimagined folk songs, original compositions, and diverse soundscapes to create a richly layered and captivating musical experience.

#Pipa Meets Its Kindred Spirit
The six compositions in this concert center on the pipa, opening dialogues that transcend instruments and sonic languages while deepening exchanges between contemporary composers and traditional music.

# Five Letters of Tango
“Five Letters of Tango” tells these emotions in music—five embraces of life: to the past, to solitude, to desire, to the heartbeat, and finally, to the self that has learned to let go.

# The Moment staged reading version
The Moment follows three strangers brought together by heavy rain in the same guesthouse. This presentation marks the first time the work is performed as a staged reading at NYCU.

# Susan Chou & Eric Gratz Duo Concert
Taiwanese pianist Chou Hsiao-Tung and American violinist Eric Gratz present an exquisite duo program spanning the Classical to modern periods. Together, they will perform masterpieces by Schubert, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Britten, and Ravel, showcasing their delicate musical interpretation and profound artistic mastery.

# The Piano Language of Liszt, Ligeti, and Kurtág
This program brings together three composers who, across generations, have shaped the very conception of the piano — Franz Liszt, György Ligeti, and György Kurtág.

#2026 Performing Arts Workshop: Resonating with Space
Voice is the soul of emotion, and the body is how we communicate with the world. Through this workshop, you will learn to drop your daily mask and reawaken your instincts, helping you find a balance between deep focus and relaxation, allowing your body to return to its natural state and truly connect with your surroundings.
